GALVANIZING INDUSTRY OPEN DAY – 15th OCTOBER 2019
You are invited to join us for celebrating the Galvanizing Industry’s second Open Day on October 15th. It is a perfect opportunity for you to see how the domestic galvanizing industry contributes to building Ireland.
Hot dip galvanizing is a highly controlled factory led process, and anything from small components up to large structural sections can be galvanized.
Whether it be for agriculture, street furniture, transport, utilities, construction, or the energy sectors – these are products for all spheres of life, even your garden gate.
15th of October, Sperrin Galvanisers will take a leading role in the second Industry Open Day, shining a light on the impressive alchemy that is hot dip galvanizing.
During the plant tours, we will be hosting free RIAI and Engineers Ireland approved CPD presentations tailored to engineers and architects. All attendees will receive their certificates.
During the event we will provide tours of our facilities and you will be able to:
- See the galvanizing baths and watch how the steel is dipped into zinc in order to protect it from the elements to prolong its life
- Meet our team members and ask any questions you have about galvanizing
- Our technical teams will also be on hand to offer advice about designing steel for galvanizing.
- Tea, coffee and snacks will be available throughout the day
- Limited parking on site may be available
- Personal protective equipment will be provided on the day
3 key benefits of the plant tour
The coordinated site visits are aimed at giving specifiers and fabricators a valuable opportunity to learn how to extend and improve their use of galvanizing.
Understand the hot dip galvanizing process
Make more informed corrosion protection decisions
Design better structures
What the Architects and Engineers say
It was very informative day. Thank you especially the staff at Galco Cork for a plant tour – Nigel O’Sullivan, JCA Architects
Please pass my thanks for a very informative presentation and tour to your colleagues and of course thank you for your organisation of the morning. I’ve been specifying galvanised steel for 30 year and hadn’t revisited the subject in such detail since my college days. I took away a lot!! – Valentine Ryan, Ryan Associates Consulting Engineers
Thanks very much for allowing me to attend your site and to give me a good understanding of the process and the products you supply. I look forward to receiving the relevant PDF’s along with a certificate of attendance for the CPD. I found the whole process very informative – Declan Kehoe, KEHOE Architectural Design
